Faith in people

"Faith is daring the soul to go beyond what the eyes can see."
- William Newton Clark

When you think about it, we all have faith in a lot of things: The water will run from our taps; the sun will rise and set; there will be oxygen enough for our next breath.

Having faith in yourself and your abilities is a tremendously important thing. In fact your overall self-esteem revolves around this. We all know how important a good self-esteem is.

Also important is having faith in those around you. This goes beyond trusting them, into believing in them. When you believe in others you help them to have faith in themselves. This also has benefits for you. When you have faith that someone will do as you ask, then you have no stress about it.

We all have faith, but do we have faith in people? Ourselves?

Aligning with Energy

"A good stance and posture reflect a proper state of mind."
- Morihei Ueshiba

Chiropractors realign spines which have slipped out of place, applying pressure to the spinal cord. The principle is that by relieving this pressure it opens the nerves for communication throughout our body, enabling it to work more optimally. This includes various things like digestion, mental clarity, work efficiency, and energy.

Eastern philosophies recognize the benefits of proper alignment too. According to them, there are energy pathways through our body called meridians. If the flow of energy is blocked along these meridians, your body is out of balance. Restoring this balance has the same benefits as chiropractic.

We can manage our own alignment by simply maintaining proper posture. Keep your back straight both while standing and while sitting. This posture can be exhausting to maintain, but speaking from personal experience, the energy lift is worth it!

Happiness is a Choice

"I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be."
- Groucho Marx

There's plenty of reasons to be happy, including: better health, successful relationships, and success at work. Given these reasons wouldn't you like to be happy all the time? Happiness is purely a state of mind. It's not a reaction, but a choice that you consciously make. Have you ever thought "I'll be happy when such-and-such happens?" Thoughts like this prove you choose your feelings, regardless of what's happening.

Try this: Take a deep breath. Imagine you're breathing in happiness. Hold that breath and that happiness. Breathe out. Imagine breathing out all your unhappy thoughts. Repeat three times or more as desired.

With Christmas, the season of joy, upon us, what better time to choose to be happy all the time?
